• metal-ceramic;

• non-metallic;

The disadvantage is that it is not possible to use microprosthesis as part of bridges. In addition, due to excessive fragility, it is not recommended to put on chewing teeth – only on the front teeth.

Dental crowns made of zirconium dioxide are durable, do not require significant tooth grinding during installation, do not provoke allergies. The service life reaches 20 or more years. It can be used in bridge constructions. The disadvantages are the high price.

Indications for the installation of turnkey structures

Dentists recommend placing crowns in these situations:

• The tooth is more than 50% decayed, but the root is intact;
• the enamel has darkened severely, making the smile unaesthetic;
• the teeth have become loose due to periodontitis;
• there is pathological erosion of the enamel;
• a filled tooth needs to be strengthened and camouflaged;
• a bridge needs to be fixed.

In any case, the doctor will independently determine whether the structure can and should be installed. He will also find out if there are any contraindications. Crowns are not suitable if the patient has advanced periodontitis, bruxism, acute inflammatory processes in the body. The procedure is not recommended for children under 16 years of age.

Steps of prosthetics

Installation of a micro prosthesis takes place step by step. At the first appointment, the dentist examines the oral cavity, identifies diseases, if necessary, prescribes X-rays and treatment: filling of canals, cleaning of tartar and plaque. Then the tooth is ground – the top layer is removed to the thickness of the future crown. Local anesthesia is used for anesthesia.

Further stages:

1. Taking impressions for making plaster models of crowns, and after permanent crowns.
2. Fixation of temporary plastic structures on ground teeth.
3. Fabrication of the crown in the laboratory.
4. Trying on the prosthesis.
5. Placement of the structure and firm fixation with cement.
